We have visited 2 castles since our arrival in Scotland: Stirling and Glamis. Stirling is absolutely enormous and deserves much more time than we were able to give it. But we did get a feel for castle life back in the time of its heyday. Glamis is much more do-able and we were able to join a tour to hear about it's history (childhood home of Queen Elisabeth I). Each castle has its own story and to think there are hundreds around here just baffles me. We hope to eventually visit some Hay Castles and learn a few stories from our own family's history.
