We recently returned from a Spring Break trip to the Lake District. It was beautiful and we were fortunate to have 4 perfectly warm and sunny days (which is rather unusual for that part of the country). It was a nice break for the 3 of us before our new addition arrives.
The Stone Circle - 4000 or 5000 year old ruins (similar to Stonehenge).
Entering the gate (to keep the sheep inside) to see the Stone Circle. We had to keep Amelie from chasing the sheep around.
30 weeks pregnant in this picture
Smelling the flowers at the World of Beatrice Potter. One of mine and Amelie's favorite things we did! Andrew liked it too, but probably not as much as us.
Walking through the exhibit
Enjoying the sun on Lake Winderemere
Eating lunch outside at the oldest Pub in town
Visiting the village of Hawkeshead. This is where William Wordsworth attended Grammar school. Andrew also has some family history here.
Admiring the flowers at Muncaster Castle
The front of the castle
Having fun on the castle grounds, but not cooperating for pictures!
Aboard the steam train from Ravenglass to Eskdale
Enjoying the ride
One of my favorite things about Spring...lambs!! They were everywhere and I was completely taken by them.
Aira Force waterfall
Andrew discovered this wishing tree on our small hike to the waterfall. It is covered in a ton of coins if you can't tell from the picture. He made his contribution....then later regretted it when we needed 20p for parking.
Cruising on Ullswater Steamer
