Amelie and I were really fortunate to get to fly home with my parents in the middle of October. I was excited for several reasons: one being to see both of my sisters and the rest of the extended family, good Mexican food of course, and to enjoy the fabulous weather Texas has in October. It is probably one of the best times of the year there! We got to do Halloween with the Sparkman kids and that was a lot of fun. Amelie was very entertained by her cousins and she just thought they were pretty funny. Thanks to Gamma Amelie came back with a vast array of pink things to wear, but what I was most excited about were the pink cowboy boots. She will wear them proudly here in Scotland and will remind her of her Texas heritage! After my trip, I definitely felt rejuvenated and a little more ready to face the long, cold, dark winter ahead.
